Quiet Couple of Days Ahead With Sunshine and Dry Air

We enjoyed a beautiful afternoon with drier air continuing to flow in from the north. Even Cape Cod will enjoy a more comfortable night as dewpoints lower.

Overnight, the sky remains clear with refreshing air and temperatures in the 40s across the North Country, 50s to low 60s farther south.

Friday afternoon will be even drier with full sunshine and highs in the upper 70s north, low 80s south. We are expecting an afternoon sea breeze to cool off the coastline a tad too.

A weak upper-level disturbance will give us a chance for a pop-up shower or storm mainly across the interior both Saturday and Sunday afternoons. It's not enough of a chance to cancel plans, but something to keep in mind when you are out at the beach or hiking in the mountains. Highs both days will be in the mid-80s and the humidity slowly increases by Sunday.

The more humid air returns by the middle of next week, along with hotter temperatures in the low 90s.

There is also a daily chance for a storm or shower Tuesday through the end of the week with the summer airmass in place. The warmer-than-normal temperature trend continues as we kick off the first 10-days of August, and we anticipate that trend continuing through the month.
