A Massachusetts man is facing a number of charges, including his fifth drunk driving offense, after police say he left the scene of a crash while driving drunk Thursday afternoon in Raynham.
Peter Trudeau, 57, of Raynham, is facing OUI liquor (fifth offense), two counts of leaving the scene of personal injury, OUI liquor causing serious injury, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operation of a motor vehicle after license revocation while driving under the influence of alcohol, and use without authority.
Police said officers responded to New State Highway near the Route 24 north on-ramp at 1:15 p.m. for a report of a three-vehicle crash.
When they arrived, officers located a Chrysler Sebring and a Nissan Sentra, both with rear-end damage.
The drivers of both vehicles, 83-year-old Taunton resident Benvida Fall and 67-year-old Fall River resident Grace Levinson, were injured. Both were taken to Morton Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
One witness told police that a third vehicle, a black Ford Taurus, had caused the crash and left the scene. The witness said the driver struck the Nissan from behind and caused the Nissan to collide with the Chrysler.
The driver, later identified as Trudeau, allegedly got out of his vehicle and went up to the other vehicles before he fled the scene.

Police went to Trudeau's home where they located both the damaged Ford Taurus in the driveway and Trudeau inside the house.
Authorities said officers determined Trudeau was intoxicated through an investigation and that he was the driver. After declining medical treatment, he was taken into custody.
Trudeau was held on $20,000 bail pending his arraignment Friday in Taunton District Court. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
