Rhode Island Governor Orders Flags Lowered for John McCain

Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo has ordered flags in the state lowered to half-staff to mark the death of Sen. John McCain.

The Arizona Republican died Saturday of brain cancer at his Arizona ranch. He was 81.

Raimondo said Monday that flags will return to full staff at sunset on Sunday, the day of McCain's private burial service. McCain was a decorated Vietnam War veteran, former prisoner of war and six-term senator.

The Democratic governor described him as a ``war hero, dedicated patriot and true fighter until the very end.'' She says his death is a loss for the nation.

McCain will be buried on a grassy hill at the U.S. Naval Academy Cemetery in Annapolis, Maryland.
