Second Man Arrested in Connection with Lowell Homicide

Authorities have arrested a second man in connection with a fatal home invasion in Lowell, Massachusetts earlier this week.

Jeffrey Puryear, 24, of Dracut, was arrested on Saturday morning and charged with armed assault in the incident that took place on July 26 on Walker Street.

Samundi Cobb, 41, has also been charged with armed assault in the case. He was arraigned in Lowell District Court on Friday and is being held without bail pending a hearing scheduled for Aug. 3.

The victim in the case is 40-year-old Saro Mann, who died from injuries he sustained in his residence after being transported to Lowell General Hospital.

Emergency personnel initially responded to a 911 call at the residence at around 2:40 a.m. on July 26. Mann was located by an unnamed individual, who also lives at the Walker Street address, who returned home at some point in the early morning hours.

The case remains under investigation by the Middlesex District Attorney's Office, the Lowell Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police.
