Speaking Friday in New Hampshire, Sen. Elizabeth Warren pushed for high-quality universal child care.
The Massachusetts Democrat was the keynote speaker at the McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Dinner Friday evening in Manchester. At the annual event, Warren said she was proposing universal child care because she remembers being a young working mother desperate to find safe, affordable care for her two children.
Warren said she believes high-quality care "shouldn't be a privilege reserved for the rich."
The dinner was founded by supporters of Sen. John F. Kennedy in 1959 as a way to support the Democratic Party in New Hampshire.
On Saturday, Warren will attend a house party in Laconia, host an organizing event in Plymouth, and attend a meet and greet with young Democrats in Nashua.
This was Warren's second visit to the Granite State since launching an exploratory committee for the 2020 campaign.
Since declaring her candidacy for president, Warren has visited New Hampshire, Iowa, South Carolina, Georgia, Nevada, and California.

While on the campaign trail, she has also been advocating for health care reform, solutions to student loan debt, and increases to the minimum wage.
