A coastal storm skirts east of New England on Monday. Gusty north/northeast winds along the coast pile up water for Monday afternoon’s tide. It’s not enough for major flooding, but it should be enough for minor splash over between 2 and 5 p.m.
High temperatures will be in the low to mid 40s across in the interior and upper 40s to low 50s across southeast Massachusetts. Areas in the northern New England will only reach into the upper 30s to 40 degrees.
Expect scattered showers on Tuesday morning, with some snow possible in the higher elevations. Dry conditions return during the afternoon, with high temperatures reaching the low to mid 40s in the interior and upper 40s to low 50s near the coast.
As the storm pulls away, we can expect a little sun to appear, mainly in the afternoon. A slight chance of showers exists on the Cape and Islands on Wednesday, with mostly dry conditions through Thursday.
High pressure moving offshore will turn the winds more to the southwest late Thursday. High temperatures reach into the mid to upper 40s.
A cold front arrives Friday to give us the next chance for rain and snow. High temperatures rise into the low to mid 50s.
