FIRST ALERT: Severe Storms to Make Return, Along With Tropical Humidity

New England will see plenty of sunshine and less humidity Tuesday, but more storms appear to be on the way.

A light sea breeze will keep temperatures in the low to middle 80s at the beaches. Away from that cooling breeze, we’ll be near 90 degrees inland. Humidity will still be noticeable, but it won’t be as oppressive as the past days.

Overnight, expect partly to mostly cloudy skies with patchy fog and lows in the 60s to near 70.

Wednesday and Thursday bring a return to tropical humidity, more clouds, and rounds of downpours and storms. The storms will be most widespread both afternoons, especially north and west of Boston.

We've issued a First Alert ahead of Wednesday, when some of the storms will likely be strong to severe.

Expect highs in the 80s both days.

While a few clouds may linger early on Friday, with even a shower over the islands, the sun will return by the afternoon. Cooler, less humid air will also flow in behind a cold front. Highs will be in the 70s.

Those 70s will stick around with a lot of sunshine through the weekend into early next week. It will feel much more fall-like as some kids go back to school!
