Another Shark Sighting Temporarily Shuts Down Swimming at Cape Cod Beach

Longnook Beach in Truro was closed to swimming from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.

A beach on Cape Cod was briefly closed for swimming Sunday after another confirmed shark sighting.

Longnook Beach in Truro was closed from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m., according to a tweet from Truro Recreation.

Sunday's sighting follows an active Saturday on the Cape, in which multiple great white sightings prompted three beaches to temporarily close to swimming.

Swimming was closed twice at Head of the Meadow Beach in Truro and once at Coast Guard Beach on Saturday.

Nauset Beach in Orleans was also closed to swimming for an hour after another confirmed shark sighting. It was a Nauset Beach lifeguard that spotted the shark about 50 yards off the beach.
