Man Killed in 2nd Fatal Shooting in Roslindale This Week

Boston police say the shooting happened in the area of 35 Paine Street

Editor's Note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly identified the victim of Friday's shooting as Pasqual Casiano. Police identified Casiano as the fatal victim in a Thursday shooting in the same neighborhood. We regret the error.

A Boston man is dead after being shot in Boston's Roslindale neighborhood Friday night.

Police say two men were wounded after shots rang out shortly after 10:30p.m. in the area of 35 Paine Street. Both men were taken to a nearby hospital.

Aderito Barbosa, 35, of Dorchester died from his injuries, police said.  The second victim was expected to survive.

Nearby resident Marjorie Bernadeau says she was home with her family when she heard the gunshots.

"The reason we moved here, we have kids, it’s because this is an extremely quiet street,"  said Bernadeau. "Nothing happens on the street."

But Bernadeau says she doesn't feel that way anymore. Several doors down, another neighbor said safety is a concern.

"There are different people just roaming the neighborhood that we don’t know," the neighbor said.

There's no word on a suspect, and no other information was immediately available.

The scene is just blocks from where a double shooting left one man, later identified as 44-year-old Pasqual Casiano of Jamaica Plain, dead on Thursday.

Friday night's shooting remains under investigation.
