For the first time in months we had a relatively dry Friday in New England, just a few sprinkles. But there was certainly plenty of wind, that was on the backside of a storm south of Nova Scotia.
That storm has pulled out and we are looking at a beautiful start to this Memorial Day weekend.
Under sunny skies temperatures will quickly rise into the 70s Saturday, and a light seabreeze will keep it a bit cooler at the beaches. But it doesn’t matter what the temperature is, this is sunburn weather today. We get some natural sunscreen late in the day as clouds increase from the west.
Day after day of severe weather has continued in the central Plains, and we get the leftovers. Another round of leftovers will arrive Saturday night, in the form of showers and maybe a thunderstorm as a warm front moves in to New England. It will become more humid by Sunday morning with a low temperature in the 50s and 60s.
Any early clouds should break up for another big dose of sunshine Sunday, more sunburn weather, and warmer with a high temperature near 80°. Good beach weather for our unofficial kick off to the summer season in New England.
A weak cold front moves in Sunday afternoon that will trigger clouds and a few showers or maybe a thunderstorm late in the day and toward evening.
Any showers and storms should end fairly quickly Sunday night, setting us up for a nice Memorial Day Monday. It will be a little bit cooler with a high temperature in the 60s to low 70s with a breeze from the northwest.

We may turn even cooler on Tuesday with clouds and a chance of a slug of rain, as a wave of low pressure ripples along the coast of southern New England.
We are very close to hot weather the middle of the week, but the front may stay stalled in southern New England, that would keep us rather wet and hold the temperatures down. We have to fine-tune that situation as we get closer and our First Alert 10 Day Forecast.
