Singing Supermarket Cashier Serenades Customers

Rising above the beeps and the bagging at checkout at the Stop and Shop in Framingham, Massachusetts, near the Natick Mall, is the voice of cashier Lisa Banks.

"I sing because it's enjoyable," Banks said. "It makes me feel good and it makes others feel good."

Banks has been doing the supermarket serenades since she started working at the store three years ago. Every customer gets a concert.

"There are people who say, 'I come back and I look for you just because you are singing. Even though your line is all the way down the back of the store,' Banks said. "I appreciate that!"

She mixes up the songs, but "oldies" are her favorites, and in turn, she's a customer favorite.

"As long as it puts a smile on my face, I will always sing, and I know it will," said Banks.
