Two New Hampshire sisters are accused of breaking into a home in Manchester, with one also accused of assaulting a police officer.
A home invasion in the city's quiet North End neighborhood is unusual, and the owners of the North Adams Street home tell NBC10 Boston they're just grateful it didn't turn violent before police showed up.
It was just before 2:30 a.m. Tuesday when the 66-year-old homeowner woke up to the sound of shattering glass. Police say the man went downstairs to investigate and was confronted by two women inside his home. He called 911 right away.
When officers arrived, the homeowner was out front, and the two intruders were still inside his house. Police say Sierra Harrison-Francis was covered in blood from breaking through the glass on the back door. Officers say when they tried to escort her out of the house, she started fighting back, smearing blood on them and kicking officers while they tried to cuff her.
One officer deployed his stun gun and got Francis under control.
Police say Francis broke into the house with her sister, Jajara Harrison-Francis, who they also arrested.
The homeowners didn't want to talk on camera, but they say they didn't recognize the women.

Sierra Harrison-Francis is facing multiple charges, including assaulting a police officer. Her sister is charged with hindering apprehension because she tried to prevent officers from arresting Sierra.
They were both arraigned Tuesday afternoon.
