A lawyer for a suspected kidnapper who lived in a Massachusetts home where the bodies of three women were found has won approval to spend $15,000 to hire an investigator, psychiatrist and private medical examiner.
The Republican newspaper reports that a judge approved motions filed by a court-appointed attorney for Stewart Weldon to hire the experts during a hearing Friday.
Weldon is being held on $2 million bail after pleading not guilty to kidnapping two women in separate incidents. No one has been charged in connection with the bodies found in his Springfield home.
Weldon was arrested May 27 after fleeing a traffic stop. A woman in his car said she had been held against her will. The bodies were found during a search of his home several days later.
