High pressure settles in as we head towards the end of the week as overnight lows will fall to the 20s in the north and the 30s in the south with some clearing and a northwest breeze adding a chill to the air.
Our wind direction changes on Friday as the high pressure center moves to our southwest. This will boost temperatures as we head into the weekend.
Highs on Friday will reach the 50s to low 60s, but it is all about the wind. A warm front moves through Friday night into Saturday morning. This will trigger scattered rain and an isolated thunderstorm. The rain tapers off Saturday afternoon.
We are in store for a great weekend as highs soar into the low 70s and 60s farther north on Saturday. Sunday begins dry and clear with temperatures in the 60s, but there is more rain approaching.
Showers move in from the Midwest Sunday evening, and will last through the Boston Marathon. Though the track and intensity are still uncertain, this could mean the difference between 40 degrees and heavy rain versus breaks in the rain and temperatures in the 50s. School vacation week will be a touch above normal with moderate temperatures across New England and dry weather returning Tuesday and Wednesday. A system is expected to bring rain around Thursday and Friday. High temperatures stay around 60 degrees with a warm up by the end of next week.
