Sunny But Chilly St. Patrick's Day Ahead

That old storm from the west that hit so hard in the middle of the nation, is finally exiting the picture. We are on the backside with the wind coming from Canada. It will be colder today than we’ve seen in the last few days.

It is a bright and brisk St. Patrick’s Day and expect fine weather for parade. We just need to have hats and gloves and a warm jacket. Also, be prepared with sunglasses thanks to mostly sunny skies today. High temperature will be in the 30s to lower 40s. There is still a breeze from the west gusting 20 to 25 mph.

A weak area of low pressure will miss us to the south Monday, leaving plenty of sunshine and temperatures again near 40 degrees with light wind. As that storm intensifies well to our east, some colder air will arrive Tuesday, with plenty of sunshine and high temperature in the 30s. It won't be too windy.

The full moon and vernal equinox coincide on Wednesday. The weather still looks good with high pressure from Canada in control, and there will be sunshine and a high temperature in the 40s.

Thursday becomes a little bit more interesting, as a front from Canada and a front from the mid-west will converge on New England. That means increasing clouds with a chance of some light rain or snow by afternoon and night. Expect high temperature in the 40s.

Low pressure may intensify in the Gulf of Maine to the east of New England on Friday, perhaps with a little bit of rain or snow early, and then some more cool air coming back with the temperature in the 40s to finish out the week.

The early call for next weekend is mostly dry and seasonable. Stay tuned to our First Alert 10-Day Forecast for further details.
