Tanker Truck Carting Milk Crashes into Home in Suffield

It was a close call when a tanker truck came barreling up to a home in Suffield Sunday morning.

The accident happened at 916 Mountain Road around 10:30 a.m. Police said the hood of a milk tanker truck struck the home.

The truck didn't penetrate the building, but rather just hit the outside of the structure. According to police, there is no structural damage to the house, just debris outside.

The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The occupants of the home were uninjured, and told NBC Connecticut it looked like the driver was trying to avoid hitting the house.

The Department of Motor Vehicles Commercial Vehicle Safety Division was requested to the scene. There were delays in the area for several hours while police investigated.
