Temperatures Cool Off, Scattered Showers for Some Saturday

Our air has turned less humid and we will enjoy the refreshing air all weekend long. A few weak cold fronts move through New England and will continue to reinforce the dry air and lower temperatures a tad by Saturday and Sunday.

A few storms have continued across the North Country today, while southern New England remained dry and sunny. Any storm or shower will dissipate after sunset.

Overnight we will be mostly clear with lows in the 50s. With such low humidity, our stargazing forecast is top notch. The Perseid Meteor Shower peaks late this weekend, so don’t forget to look up at the night sky for some meteors.

The weekend will bring some cooler temperatures in the 70s and low 80s for highs. A cold front will march northwest to southeast through New England Saturday afternoon. This will trigger scattered showers and storms especially across Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.

There will be a cool pool of air aloft up north, so any storm or shower could also produce some small soft hail, or graupel. We will also be windy with gusts from the west, northwest up to 35 mph. Southern New England has a much lower chance for a shower. Most of the afternoon and evening will be cool, breezy, with increasing clouds and maybe a sprinkle.

Sunday will be all dry for the northeast as high pressure builds. Highs reach the 70s to low 80s with still low humidity.

The dry weather continues into Monday, but we increase highs into the mid 80s under full sun. Tuesday into Wednesday morning a low pressure system will track east and head off the coast and will remain south of us. However, this storm could bring a northeast wind, scattered rain, drizzle, low clouds and cool temperatures in the 70s to 60s.

We dry off and clear out next Thursday through the weekend. Stay tuned to updates!
