Missing Bulldog Belongs to Former Patriots Linebacker

A former member of the New England Patriots is asking for the public's assistance in finding his bulldog that went missing in rather mysterious fashion this week.

Wrentham police said they were called to the Joe's Rock conservation area off 1500 West Street around 8 p.m. Thursday for a report of a lost dog.

Knox, an English bulldog, was being walked along with another dog by a trainer from Rhode Island. While attending to the other dog, the trainer lost track of Knox and he vanished.

According to an Instagram post by Jerod Mayo, the dog belongs to him.

Police searched the area but were unable to locate Knox. They did, however, find his electronic collar out in the open on the trail.

The collar was in pristine condition and there was nothing to suggest that it had been removed forcibly. There was also no blood or fur near the collar and no sounds were heard that would indicate that Knox had become prey to another animal.

Since it was after dusk, there was no one else in the area at the time, so police have no witnesses and no leads to go on.

Mayo said in his Instagram post that there is a cash reward.

Anyone who may have seen anything, or has seen Knox, is asked to contact Wrentham police at 508-384-2121.
