Two Dead After Head-On Christmas Morning Crash in Gouldsboro, Maine

Officials have identified the victims of the Christmas morning crash in Gouldsboro, Maine, according to News Center Maine.

Lisa Grant, 57, of Orrington and John Organes, 35, of Sullivan, died as a result of the crash.

Police say the truck driven by Organes crossed the center line and struck the car driven by 60-yr-old Michael Grant of Orrington head on. Lisa Grant, the passenger in Michael Grant's car, died at the scene.

Organes was transported to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Gouldsboro Fire Department Capt. Edward Pontbriand said a sedan and a pickup crashed somewhere near 9:30 a.m. Christmas morning.

“There’s no skid marks out on the scene, so when they hit, it was a high impact accident. Head on," said Pontbriand. "It was a big hit.”

Steuben, Sullivan, Gouldsboro, and Winter Harbor fire departments were called to the scene. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, Gouldsboro PD, and State Police also helped with the crash.

Route 1 was opened around 1 p.m. Christmas afternoon.
