Police are investigating a double shooting in the Mattapan neighborhood early Sunday morning that left one man dead and another injured.
Boston police say the incident occurred at 4:24 a.m. as police responded to a call for two people shot in the area of Osceola Street and Hopewell Road in Mattapan.
Arriving officers found two men, identified as one in his late 20s and the other in his 40s, with apparent gunshot wounds. Both men were transported to area hospitals and one later died. It is unclear which of the men died and a police news statement issued this morning did not state the names of either victim.
