Two Teens Shot at Brockton Party; Suspect Sought

The search continues for a man who shot two young women at a Brockton party on Saturday night.

Both women were transported to Boston Medical Center after each being shot at a backyard party at 220 Copeland Street. One 19-year-old girl was shot twice in each leg, and the 17-year-old was shot once in her upper thigh. Both women are expected to survive.

Toni, the mother of the 17-year-old, said, "She was running away and she was shot in the back of her thigh. It went right through her femur." Both parents do not want their last name revealed out of fear over retaliation from the shooter, who remains at-large. Authorities say the shooting suspect is six feet tall, and was last seen wearing all black and possibly a baseball cap.

Police responded to the scene shortly before 11:00 p.m. after shots were fired in the area. They say that the man "randomly started shooting during a house party."

Neighbor Rocco Commesso said he saw the wild scene unfold as people tried to get away. "All of a sudden I see them running this way." Other neighbors say that the police had come by the house several times that evening for loud music complaints.
