Wednesday marks 100 days until the start of the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics.
While the Olympic flame makes its way around South Korea this week with the help of 7,500 torchbearers, New York's Times Square is being transformed into a showcase for both the Winter Games and Team USA.
The U.S. Olympic Committee was in Times Square Wednesday to celebrate with dozens of Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls.
Some hopefuls are looking to make their mark for the first time, while others will be returning stars.
That includes the Team USA Women's Hockey Team and team captain Meghan Duggan of Danvers, Massachusetts.
"To have that 'C' on my chest, you know, to be recognized as the leader of this group and someone that can hopefully bring us to the gold medal... it's indescribable," said Duggan.
Also going to the Winter Games will be Alex Carpenter, of North Reading, Massachusetts, who graduated from Boston College. And Hilary Knight, who lives in Boston. Knight is considered to be one of the best players in the world.

"We’ve just championed every single world championship in the last quadrennial... which is pretty epic when you think about it," said Knight. "But I think we realize how important it is to bring back a gold medal on the Olympic stage as well, so looking forward to that opportunity."
The Olympians will join more than 95 nations and will to compete in nearly 12 venues when the Winter Games begins Feb. 9.
