Bergdahl's Idaho Hometown Cancels “Welcome Home” Rally

The small town of Hailey, Idaho, has cancelled its planned celebration for returning Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, amid controversy over the soldier's release after five years held by the Taliban, as well as over the circumstances of his disappearance. Hailey officials told NBC News that they have received hateful calls from people who don't believe Bergdahl, who will be investigated by the Army over claims he deserted, should be honored as a hero. The town isn't canceling "Welcome Home, Bowe" due to any threat, but because of the numbers of people expected to attend, town officials said.
