The woman who police feared was abducted from a fast food restaurant in southwest Miami-Dade told detectives that she was intoxicated and fighting with her boyfriend during the incident.
Miami-Dade Police initially said the woman was taken against her will from the Wendy's at 16208 Southwest 88th Street in Kendall around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Surveillance footage showed the woman pleading with employees to help her as a man argued with her over the counter. The man, who was holding the woman's purse, grabbed her arm and forcefully pulled her out of the restaurant, police said.
"Restaurant employees called for police assistance as the victim braced herself on the door frame, unsuccessfully trying to escape abduction," police said in a news release.
Police said the woman was screaming for help, wanting people to call 911.
A Crimestoppers tip helped investigators identify the woman, police said in an updated news release. They met her at her home, where she explained that she was intoxicated and arguing with her boyfriend at the time of the incident. She ran into the Wendy's, where he tried to get her back into the vehicle.

Police reclassified the incident to a battery, but the 39-year-old woman, who was not identified, did not want to pursue charges.
