Whitman Teacher Arrested Following Investigation

Whitman Police Chief Scott D. Benton says that a teacher was arrested and charged following an investigations into alleged misconduct between the teacher and a student.

Matthew DiMuccio, 32, of Wellesley was charged with two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14. He was arrested Monday afternoon and taken to the Whitman Police station to be booked.

DiMuccio taught music at Duval Elementary School and was immediately placed on administrative leave by school district officials after a school resource officer was notified of alleged inappropriate behavior.

Arraignment for DiMuccio is scheduled for Tuesday in Brockton District Court.

The investigation is active and ongoing. There are no further details regarding the case and details of the allegations will not be released.
