Wind Chill Advisory Expires Tuesday Morning

By this afternoon, with a good amount of sunshine and wind diminishing to 15 to 20 mph, we get high temperatures in the 20s south and teens north, 15 to 20° warmer than yesterday.

It’s mostly clear and cold again tonight, the temperature is well above zero in southern and western New England.

The frigid high-pressure system heads south of us, allowing the return flow from the southwest will get us back to the 30s and low 40s tomorrow. With a mixture of sun and clouds to start tomorrow, wind will increase from the south est gusting past 25 mph adding a little extra chill.

A warm front comes through during the afternoon with a wintry mix changing quickly to rain during the afternoon.

Rain may become heavy at times in eastern New England Wednesday night and Thursday. It may turn cold enough for rain to go back to snow if the precipitation is ongoing and western and northern areas on Thursday. But along south of the Massachusetts Turnpike we may have enough rain and warm air to melt snow and result in flooding.

Temperatures do cool late, although it’s not a flash freeze, but by morning Friday we are below freezing once again. Friday may be a quiet day, but another front will come in Friday night with snow showers and snow squalls. Saturday looks like a mixture of sun and clouds with a high temperature in the teens to low 20s and a chance of light snow. It’s a very challenging forecast for Sunday and into early next week as another batch of bitter cold air will be working toward us but there may be a front stalled with possible coastal storm. Will have to keep an eye on that one. Plenty of weather to watch in our First Alert Ten Day Forecast.
