A woman was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of second degree assault and reckless conduct in connection with a March 2017 crash that seriously injured a 6-year-old.
Police say 28-year-old Paige Corriveau, of Boscawen, New Hampshire, was driving distracted when she crashed on Interstate 93 in Bow, New Hampshire, seriously injuring her 6-year-old passenger.
The 6-year-old child, who was not identified, had to undergo emergency surgery at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
Corriveau also sustained serious injuries in the crash.
A preliminary investigation into the March 1 crash had revealed the cause of the crash was due to distracted driving, specifically texting and driving.
In their investigation, police obtained cell phone records after executing a search warrant.
Corriveau was released on $2,000 bail and will appear at Merrimack County Superior Court on Feb. 15.
