4 Firefighters Injured in 3-Alarm Apartment Complex Blaze

Four firefighters were injured battling a 3-alarm blaze in an apartment building in Worcester, Massachusetts on Tuesday morning.

Worcester Fire Deputy Chief Martin Dyer said two firefighters suffered leg injuries, one injured a shoulder and one other was treated for heat exhaustion while fighting the fire on the fourth floor of a building at 1039 Main St. All of the injuries are considered minor, according to Dyer.

The call for the fire at the apartment complex came in after 9 a.m., and arriving firefighters found heavy flames in the rear of the building when they got to the scene.

At least 20 residents have been displaced as a result of the blaze; all were able to safely get out of the building, according to fire officials.

Aerial video from the scene showed firefighters treating the building's damaged roof and what appeared to be scorch marks coming from windows on the building's fourth floor.
