Worcester Technical High School Suspends Football Teams for ‘Student-Athlete Safety Incident'

A Massachusetts high school has suspended its varsity and junior football teams for the rest of the year amid complaints of alleged "student-athlete safety incidents".

Worcester Technical High School safety director Robert Pezzella told NBC10 Boston that because school officials are investigating complaints of safety incidents, it was decided to suspend the football season in the best interest of the school.

Pezzella did not elaborate any further but said, "more information will be forthcoming."

According to the Telegram, Pezzella said a meeting for parents of the football players was scheduled sometime on Thursday.
