A member of the cleaning crew at a Massachusetts casino has been charged with trying to poison two co-workers she didn't want to work with by pouring cleaning fluid into their sodas.
Alexandria Martel pleaded not guilty Tuesday to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and attempted poisoning.
Police arrested the Attleboro woman Tuesday morning at Plainridge Park Casino in Plainville after co-workers reported that their sodas had been tampered with while left unattended.
A 39-year-old man spit out his drink out after noticing a chemical taste. A 35-year-old woman said her drink tasted bad.
Police said Martel told them she didn't like her co-workers and wanted to make them nauseous so she wouldn't have to work with them that day. The co-workers had reportedly accused her of not cleaning the bathrooms, and she was also said to be angry at not getting invited to eat breakfast with them.
Surveillance video showed Martel standing in front of the woman's cup and raising her arm, appearing to pour something into her co-workers' drink.
A lawyer who represented Martel at her arraignment declined to comment. She is scheduled to return to court next month.

Plainridge Park Casino said it is not allowed to comment, but confirmed that Martel is no longer an employee.
