Boston Police Recover Two Loaded Guns in Separate Incidents

Three men are scheduled to be arraigned on charges next week

Three men were arrested Thursday on gun charges in two separate incidents, according to police in Boston.

Officers first attempted to make a traffic stop on Powellton Road in Dorchester at about 3 p.m. Police said the passenger, Tyrre Herring, 19, of Dorchester, jumped out as the vehicle was coming to a stop and started running.

Police said officers saw that Herring had a gun sticking out of the waistband of his pants. After a pursuit through several backyards, officers were able to arrest Herring and recover the loaded weapon.

Herring is scheduled to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and trespassing.

About four hours later, police recovered another loaded gun inside an apartment on Lattimore Court in Roxbury following a drug investigation.

Police placed Deondre Blanding, 19, of Roslindale, and Walter Coleman, 19, of Dorchester, under arrest. Both men are scheduled to appear in Roxbury District Court on drug and trespassing charges. The recovered gun was turned over to the Ballistics Unit for processing.
