PD: 1 Charged After Man Found ‘Covered in Blood' in Boston

Luis Andino, 25, of South Boston is charged with assault and battery and resisting arrest

A man has been charged after police found anther man covered in blood and suffering from a deep laceration to his forehead on a Boston street.

According to police, they received a call for an assault and battery in the area of 1 Franklin Street around 1:40 a.m. Saturday.

Officers say when they arrived they found a man covered in blood and suffering from a deep wound to his forehead.

The victim and a female witness told officers they were walking on Washington Street towards Summer Street when an unknown man approached them and punched the victim in the face. The female pursued the suspect, but he fled the area.

Additional police units were called to the scene and were able to locate a man matching the description near the Chinatown Train Station.

The officers say they positively identified the suspect as Luis Andino, 25, of South Boston. They say he became agitated and began to violently struggle with officers, kicking and thrashing his body while inside the patrol car.

Officers were able to secure Andino and transported him to the station, where he refused to be booked.

Andino is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on charges of assault and battery causing bodily injury and resisting arrest.

It is unclear if Andino has an attorney.
