1 Dead, 2 Rescued After Boat Capsizes in Gloucester, Mass.

Their fishing vessel, the "Orin C," sank about 12 miles off Thatcher Island

One fisherman is dead and two have been rescued after a boat capsized off the coast in Gloucester, Massachusetts, Thursday, according to the Coast Guard.

Their fishing vessel, the "Orin C," sank about 12 miles off Thatcher Island.

A passerby on another boat notified authorities that the boat was disabled and was helping it return to shore with a tow.

But as it was towed, high winds and waves hit the bow, causing it to flood.

The Coast Guard launched rescue efforts, but they were unable to keep the boat afloat.

Three fishermen were pulled from the water and one was unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead.

The fisherman's name has not been released.

The incident remains under investigation.
