1 Dead, 3 Injured in Crash in Brentwood, NH

New Hampshire State Police say a woman is dead and three others were injured after a three-car, chain-reaction crash in Brentwood.

Authorities say 40-year-old Jennifer Markee of Newton, New Hampshire, was airlifted to a Boston hospital, where she died of her injuries Friday night. Police say two children in her car were taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say the Friday afternoon crash was set in motion when a truck operated by 33-year-old Christopher Lavoie of Loudon rear-ended a truck waiting to make a legal left turn on Route 125 southbound. That collision pushed the truck driven by 46-year-old Paul Smith of Brentwood into the northbound lane, where it struck Markee's car.

Police say Lavoie was injured and Smith was not. The investigation is ongoing.
