Man Dies After Being Pulled from Burning Car

The accident occurred on Wednesday morning on Interstate 89

One person is dead following a single-car crash on Interstate 89 in Warner, New Hampshire, on Wednesday morning.

New Hampshire State Police Lt. Jerome Maslan said calls came in around 7 a.m. concerning a vehicle fire on I-89 north, approximately one mile south of Exit 9. He said a single vehicle had crashed into the center median and burst into flames.

The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was killed as a result of the crash. He has been identified as Victor Mcallister, 52, of Bradford.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Mcallister was driving a 1998 GMC Jimmy SUV north when his vehicle inexplicably drove off the left side of the road, striking a granite rock formation in the median.

Two people working at a local business near I-89 in Warner heard the crash and ran to the scene, pulling Mcallister from the burning vehicle.

The highway was fully closed for a brief period of time, until one lane of travel was ultimately reopened.
