19-Year-Old Man Killed in Andover Car Crash

Massachusetts State Police said a 19-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on Interstate 495 in Andover.

Police said a car travelling northbound just before Route 28 veered off the right side of the road and into the wood-line. The sole occupant of the car, who was identified only as a Lowell resident, was killed. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Authorities responded to the scene just before 5 a.m. It remained unclear what caused the crash.

As a result of the investigation, the right and breakdown lanes were temporarily shut down. All lanes have since been reopened.

The investigation is ongoing.
