1 Killed, 4 Injured in Early-Morning Crash in Cheshire, Mass.

Police say the vehicle left the road and struck some trees

State police say one person was killed and four others were injured in an early morning car crash in Berkshire County in Massachusetts. 

Police say the vehicle left the road and struck some trees in Cheshire at about 12:30 a.m. Friday. 

Police say a 19-year-old Adams man was driving the vehicle.

One of the passengers died. He has since been identified as Robert Pearson, 19, of Dalton.

Two passengers, a 22-year-old North Adams man and a 30-year-old North Adams man, both suffered serious injuries and were taken to Berkshire Medical Center.

The driver and another passenger, a 19-year-old North Adams Woman, were also taken to Berkshire Medical Center with minor injuries.

Police tell masslive.com that neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected to have played a role. 

The crash remains under investigation.
