    Summer Shootings in Boston on the Rise

    There have been high-profile gang busts, meetings with community leaders and bike rides for peace. And still the violence hasn't stopped. (Published Tuesday, July 18, 2017)

    One person was killed in an early-morning shooting Friday in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood.

    The shooting occurred around 12:22 a.m. in the area of 417 Geneva Ave., according to Boston police.

    Officers found the victim, a man in his late 30s, on the sidewalk suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.

    Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate.
