1 Man Arrested, Another Sought After Fatal Shooting in Presque Isle, Maine

Police arrested Jomo White, 31, of Atlanta, but are still looking for Jason Alexander, of Blaine, Maine

Police in Maine say they've arrested one of two men in connection with a shooting that critically injured a man.

The shooting happened early Monday in Presque Isle. Many schools and businesses closed for the day. The school district said Tuesday it was open as scheduled for the day, and that additional safety measures were in place.

Police on Tuesday say they arrested 31-year-old Jomo White, of Atlanta, at a local residence without incident. It wasn't immediately known if he had a lawyer. They are still looking for 44-year-old Jason Alexander, of Blaine, Maine.

Police are considering what happened to be an "isolated incident" and believe the victim and the men knew one another. Police said the victim called 911 reporting he had been shot on Northern Road.
