A man is in in critical condition after he was involved in a shooting in Guilford, Vermont, on Saturday.
Vermont State Police say a disagreement arose between the victim, Edward Carter, 39, and the suspect, Nicolas Baker, 26, resulting in a physical altercation and ultimately a single gunshot wound to the victim’s abdomen just after 4 a.m.
Carter was airlifted from Brattleboro Memorial Hospital and is in critical condition Dartmouth Medical Center.
Baker’s bail is set at $25,000. He will be arraigned Monday in Vermont Superior Court.
A search warrant was conducted at Baker’s home as part of the investigation. As a result, marijuana charges will be added at his arraignment.
