An 11-year-old girl told police in Reading, Massachusetts, that a man followed behind her as she walked home from school.

Police responded to a Main Street home Tuesday afternoon after the child reported being followed on her way back from Joshua Eaton Elementary School.

The girl left school around 3:15 p.m. and noticed the man walking about 15 feet behind her when she was on Melbourne Avenue. She told police the man followed her for five to 10 minutes.

The man is described as being about 40 years old and about 5'8. He was wearing a blue jacket and blue jeans at the time, and he did not make contact with the child.
