11-Year-Old Injured in School Bus Crash

The middle school student was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure

An 11-year-old girl suffered minor injuries in a crash between a school bus and a pickup truck on Friday morning.

Police in Manchester, New Hampshire, said the 2-vehicle crash between a 2004 Ford pickup truck and a school bus occurred around 7:15 a.m. on Elm Street at West Baker Street.

The school bus, operated by Lacy Umling of Manchester, was carrying 15 Southside Middle School students. One of the students, an 11-year-old girl, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure for evaluation.

The driver of the pickup, Joel Benito-Cecenas of Manchester, told police that he lost control of his truck on the icy roadway and crashed into the bus.
