1,100 Without Power After Car Crash

Power expected to be restored within hours

More than 1,100 customers are without power Saturday in Washington County due to a vehicle crash, according to Emera Maine officials.

Spokesman Bob Potts said customers in Steuben, Milbridge and Gouldsboro lost power due to the Saturday morning accident. He said a car crashed into a utility pole near Matthew's Country Store in Steuben, snapping it in two.

Potts said the first reports of outages started coming in at about 8:50 a.m. Saturday.

He said power was expected to be restored by late Saturday morning.
