13-Year-Old Struck by Car While Biking in Pepperell, Mass.

The boy suffered what are believed to be life-threatening injuries, police said

A 13-year-old boy was struck by a car while riding his bike in Pepperell, Massachusetts Sunday night.

According to police, they responded to a report of a pedestrian brash involving a child on Shawnee Road around 7:15 p.m. Sunday.

Officers discovered a 13-year-old boy, who was wearing a helmet, had been struck by a Chevrolet Malibu sedan.

The boy was transported to Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer before being flown to UMass Medical Center in Worcester.

The boy suffered what are believed to be life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver, a 62-year-old Pepperell man, stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.

There were no other injuries as a result of the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
