15-Year-Old Struck by Car in Cambridge's Central Square

A 20-year-old woman from Medford is expected to be charged with leaving the scene of the crash, police said

A 15-year-old male was struck by a car in Central Square in Cambridge on Saturday evening, officials say.

The teenager was walking in a crosswalk around 7:50 p.m. when he was hit, Cambridge Police said.

He was taken to a local hospital for head injuries that appear to be non-life-threatening.

The driver of the car, 20-year-old Katrina Murphy of Medford, left the scene, according to police. She subsequently crashed into two parked cars on Massachusetts Avenue and Prospect Street before being apprehended by Cambridge police officers.

Murphy is expected to be charged with leaving the scene of a crash after knowingly causing personal injury.
