15-Year-Old Student Charged With Rape of Girl at High School

A 15-year-old boy is accused of raping a girl at their Massachusetts high school.

The incident allegedly happened on Tuesday at Plymouth North High School. It's unclear exactly where in the school it occurred, but school officials say it happened after hours.

The boy was arraigned on one count of rape and one count of indecent assault and battery on a female age 14 or over, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office.

Parents in town having are hard time hearing the news.

"It's terrible. It's terrible," said one.

"That's totally unacceptable. What do we do with something like that? I don't know what the answers are. A lot of people have issues in their life and it's very disheartening. It really is," said another.

Parents were notified Friday with a statement.

"It has come to our attention the media is reporting that a sexual assault happened at Plymouth North High School on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 after school hours," the school said in a statement to parents.

The statement goes on to say a report was immediately filed with the Plymouth Police Department, and that "appropriate protocol" was followed by administration at Plymouth North High School.

The teenage suspect was arraigned in Plymouth District Court.

He was released on personal recognizance and is to have no contact with the female victim.
