A 19-year-old Massachusetts man was injured in a shooting Thursday evening in downtown Lowell, according to police.
Lowell police say officers responded to 11 Central St., where they say they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Lowell General Hospital at first, and was then airlifted to a Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
He's in serious but stable condition.
Police say that people at the scene weren't cooperative and didn't provide much information; howevver, a vehicle has been located in connection with the case.
Authorities say they don't think the shooting was a random act.
