    Crews Battle Overnight Fire in Freezing Temps

    It was a cold morning for firefighters in Worcester, Massachusetts after a 2-alarm fire broke out at a laundromat. (Published Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018)

    Firefighters battled a blaze early Thursday in freezing temperatures at a laundromat in Worcester, Massachusetts.

    The 2-alarm fire was reported at 12:10 a.m. and crews responded to a strip mall on Park Avenue. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to one building and the four nearby businesses were unaffected by the flames.

    Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire, but the laundromat owner told the Telegram that an electrical issue may have sparked the blaze.

    No injuries were immediately reported.
