2 Charged With Drug Trafficking After Heroin, Cocaine Bust

Two people are facing drug trafficking charges after authorities in Maine say they made a heroin and cocaine bust last week.

Officials with the Maine DEA and Washington County Sheriff's Department say they searched a home at 50 Dixie Road in Lubec last Wednesday after an investigation for the past several months.

When police arrived, they found eight people inside the home and a woman, later identified as Jennifer Wallace, who had fled out the home's back door and was caught with a bag of drugs.

Wallace, 35, was charged with aggravated drug trafficking and was taken to Washington County Jail were her bail was set at $1,000.

Sharley Fitzsimmons, 51, was also charged with aggravated drug trafficking; however, police say that due to his declining health, he was charged by way of summons and has not been arrested at this time.

In all, police say they seized about 50 grams of heroin, 40 grams of powered cocaine, 8 grams of crack cocaine and nearly $5,000 in suspected drug profits. The street value of the seized drugs is estimated to be around $15,000.

It's unclear if Wallace and Fitzsimmons have attorneys.
