Two Saugus, Massachusetts, residents prosecutors say sexually assaulted a teenage girl that was video recorded and posted on social media have been released from jail after the alleged victim wrote a letter saying she was not attacked.
Twenty-year-old Rashad Deihim and 19-year-old Kailyn Bonia, were released on low bail and to home confinement with certain conditions on Monday.
They had been held without bail since September on charges including kidnapping, two counts of assault to rape, posing a child in a state of nudity and two counts of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older.
They have denied charges that they assaulted an intoxicated 16-year-old girl. A video was allegedly distributed via the mobile phone application Snapchat.
Prosecutors argued that the alleged victim had blacked out at times.
